Two Men Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision near McViking Way

BRENTWOOD, CA (May 22, 2024) Zachary Rau was arrested Tuesday night, and two other men sustained injuries in a DUI collision on westbound Balfour Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:26 p.m., near McViking Way.

Officers report that a speeding Chevrolet Silverado collided with a Toyota RAV4, causing the Toyota to be pushed into the path of a Honda HR-V. Investigators say the Honda was driven by a 37-year-old man from Brentwood.

Medics quickly transported a 26-year-old Antioch man from the Silverado to the hospital with significant injuries.

Paramedics also extricated the 31-year-old Brentwood man driving the Toyota and airlifted him to a hospital in “unstable” condition.

After a preliminary investigation, authorities booked the Silverado driver, identified as 26-year-old Zachary Rau of Antioch, into Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of DUI.
