The new tasting menu at n/soto, available Wednesdays and Thursdays only, is an outstanding value and a great way to understand, in one meal, what the restaurant represents. The six-course tasting menu is a collaboration between Head Chef Yoji Tajima and Chef de Cuisine Gregory Otero. It features dishes using each cooking method found in Japanese cuisine, priced at $95, with the option to add a nigiri sushi supplement ($25) as well. It includes a crisp shrimp katsu sandwich on Japanese milk toast, tender braised short ribs, market fish (currently mackerel with  Fresno chili vinaigrette), and a yuzu olive oil cake with white chocolate miso and peaches for dessert.

Crown Royal and Beauty & Lifestyle Creator and Co-founder of FORVR Mood Jackie Aina will be toasting Black entrepreneurship and the latest release of Crown Royal Blackberry Flavored Whisky, with a special pop-up event in LA. The Crown Royal Blackberry Stand x Forvr Mood By Jackie Aina, today and on Friday, June 15, will offer an adult twist on the traditional lemonade stand with a blackberry twist. They’ve teamed up to support Black Girl Ventures, a nonprofit organization providing founders with resources to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams via access to capital and community.  The stand will be set up in West Hollywood at 8505 Santa Monica Blvd.

This month, two of North America’s 50 Best Bars are joining forces for a night of crafted cocktails and celebration. SUPERBUENO, #1 in the U.S. and holding the highest entry of a new bar, is traveling to L.A. to pop up at Thunderbolt – top-ranked in their region for the second year in a row at #8. SUPERBUENO’s Mexican-American fare and libations, led by bartender Ignacio “Nacho” Jimenez takes place on Wednesday, June 26.   Jimenez also will be making an appearance at The Let’s Go! Disco, as a special guest DJ the following night on Thursday, June 27, spinning his favorite house/disco vinyl with SUPERBUENO cocktails like the Green Mango Martini and Tequila y Soda, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s award-winning Teremana Tequila.

Rita’s Deluxe is hosting a pop-up with a summer residency at Melody Wine Bar every Sunday and Monday through Sunday, Aug. 4. Rita’s classic burger, chicken sandwich and Chicago-style hot dogs will be on the menu, as well as signature cheesy crinkle fries and fried cheese curds.

Starting on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, and running every Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1, Melting Pot Thousand Oaks is running a special promotion called Forever Fondue – a three-course fondue experience complete with salad, endless entrée (choose between land and sea, classic or steak lovers entrée) and chocolate fondue starting at $57 per person. 

Summer Solstice Food & Libations Festival takes place at the Marina del Rey Hotel on Thursday, June 20, at 7 p.m. The general $65 admission ticket includes samples of Golden Eagle Vodka, Hendricks Gin, High Noon, Gina and Juice, as well as selections from Terlato Winery and Caymus Vineyards. There will be small bites from chef Garee of Battad/SALT Restaurant & Bar from a cheese and charcuterie display with the chefs’ selection of imported and domestic cheese and meats, accompanied by dried fruit, grilled bread, cornichons and mustards, as well as lemongrass coconut meringue bites and a take-home souvenir.

As L.A.  honors Juneteenth this month with neighborhood festivals and celebrations, Lumière Brasserie at Fairmont Century Plaza will commemorate the holiday with special dishes and live entertainment to benefit the Los Angeles Urban League.

For more than 100 years, the Los Angeles Urban League has served as an advocate for African Americans and other minorities by ensuring communities have access to careers with living wages, opportunities to start and grow businesses, and clear pathways to personal and professional growth. The French brasserie will offer a special menu from  Fairmont Century Plaza chefs Trabion Harris and Kimberly Sanders on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, with 15% of all proceeds from the brunch going to support the Los Angeles Urban League.

Brunch specials include Cajun-fried chicken wings, country hashed potatoes with creole spice, thin fried catfish and grits, and grilled shrimp and grits. Roasted banana trifle, Tahitian vanilla pudding, brown butter shortbread, red velvet torte and cheesecake mousse are for dessert.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood will open The Hollywood Rooftop Bar and Restaurant on Friday, Aug. 2 overlooking the Walk of Fame. The restaurant will offer a sustainable menu created by Shirlie Belloso featuring classic American dishes and international offerings. There’s also a playful selection of movie-themed cocktails and non-alcoholic and kid beverages.
