19-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after SUV Collision on Bent Tree Drive

AMARILLO, TX (May 13, 2024)Mikeal Donovan Fierro died Thursday night in a motorcycle collision on Soncy Road. Police officers arrived to the scene near Bent Tree Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m., on May 2nd.

According to reports, 19-year-old Fierro was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle, speeding along northbound Soncy Road. He then collided with a GMC SUV that was making an eastbound turn into an alley off Bent Tree Drive near 45th Avenue.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

To facilitate cleanup and initial investigative procedures, emergency personnel temporarily closed off the surrounding area. The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad is now handling further inquiries into the incident.
