Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Murieta South Parkway

RANCHO MURIETA, CA (May 22, 2024) – One man was killed Tuesday afternoon, in a three-vehicle collision on Jackson Road. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., just west of Murieta South Parkway.

Officers say the unidentified male driver of a westbound Acura RDX swerved left on Jackson Road, causing the Acura to collide with an eastbound Toyota Corolla. The Acura then hit a Toyota Tacoma head-on.

Medical personnel at the scene pronounced the Acura driver dead. The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained minor to moderate injuries. After preliminary investigations, authorities suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol closed the eastbound lanes of Jackson Road while crews worked to clear the area.

Rancho Murieta officials are continuing to investigate the fatal three-vehicle accident. More details will be provided as they become available.
