41-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Sahara Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 25, 2023)Joshua Wood lost his life, and Alied Gonzalez-Nunez found himself in custody following a DUI-related collision, early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., emergency services were summoned to the location on South Nellis Boulevard just south of East Sahara Avenue. According to accounts, 46-year-old Gonzalez-Nunez was operating a 2010 International DuraStar box-truck traveling northbound.

The vehicle’s side mirror struck a pedestrian who was positioned in the left lane. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported 41-year-old Wood to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center Trauma, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Law enforcement officers took Gonzalez-Nunez into custody after observing signs of impairment. He was then booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
