26-Year-Old Man and 29-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Sherman Island Road

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (May 22, 2024)John Malley and Jessica Hay died early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 160.

Police officers responded to the scene just before 12:20 a.m., near Sherman Island Road on May 11th.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a gray Nissan SUV and a silver Lexus SUV. According to reports, Malley was driving the Nissan southbound when he veered into the northbound lanes.

This resulted in the Nissan colliding head-on with a northbound Lexus, driven by Hay, who had a 2-month-old baby, a 5-year-old, and a 10-year-old in the vehicle.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 29-year-old Hay and 26-year-old Malley dead at the scene.

The three child passengers were transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. After an initial investigation, officers suspected that alcohol played a role in the crash. No further updates have been provided.
