20-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision on Friant Road

FRESNO, CA (April 9, 2024) Huy Nguyen Truong died Sunday night in a red-light 5-vehicle crash on Audubon Drive and Friant Road. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Truong drove his vehicle southbound through a red light, leading to a collision with another car at the intersection. Amidst the ensuing chaos, Truong also struck three other vehicles stopped at the intersection.

Emergency medical responders transported 20-year-old Truong to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the other parties involved remains unclear.

Following the incident, police closed off the surrounding roadway temporarily for cleanup and preliminary investigations. Authorities have ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the collision.
