Foodies of all flavors can satisfy their culinary curiosities at the Food Rendezvous, a monthly gathering of food enthusiasts, artisan producers and anyone else who wants to know where their food comes from and what best to do with it. At this month's inaugural event: readings by local writers Martha Rose Shulman (Mediterranean Harvest and The Very Best of Recipes for Health) and Judi Gerber (@LAFarmGirl); DIY workshops for the “self-reliant urban homesteader”; a State Fair-style jams and jellies contest (see canning rules online); and a cookbook swap.
