Sammy Virji is Dancing in the Moonlight: UK-based DJ and producer Sammy Virji started producing when he was just 13, and started DJing at 16.

“It’s always been something I was obsessed with but it wasn’t until I was at university that my production started to get recognized,” Virji says. “I started DJing in clubs playing lots of different genres just to get experience on the decks. Then after that, at around 19, I started to get booked as an artist, and the rest is history!”

He describes his sound today as bouncy, and says that the electronic music scene in general is thriving.

“Lots of exciting producers coming through and bigger producers delving into a wider range of genres,” he says. “Feels like there are a lot more crossovers in the modern day and age, which is leading to more diverse production and experimental sounds hitting the mainstream – which can only be a good thing.”

His latest release is “Moonlight.”

“I produced ‘Moonlight’ back in early 2023,” Virji says. “I found the vocal sample and had been playing around with it for a couple of years trying to get the right sort of sound from it before it was the track it is now. It’s a smoother one to kick off 2024 but one of my personal favorites – absolutely gassed to share it with the world!”

Looking ahead, Virji has plenty planned for 2024.

“Lots of stuff in the pipeline I can’t talk about just yet, but expect lots of new music and exciting live shows – watch this space!”
