We Dance With ANII: Poland-born, UK-based DJ and producer ANII started DJing at the age of 16.

“First, I actually always practised and used vinyls and then moved onto CDJ’s, but it took a long time for me to make the switch,” ANII says. “When it comes to producing, the time flies! I have been doing that for about 10 years now, maybe amore. I started producing house and then move to the sound I have today. But I see no limits when it comes to genres, make what you love. When did it start to get serious? I always think that I know this, but thinking back, maybe when it was when I started my second alias as ANII about 8 years ago, and after covid it became my only source of income, and my day to day job.”

When it comes to her sound, ANII is determined not to set limits.

“There is always a need for me to have some sort of groove, even if it’s a dark techno track,” she says. “But I have been known to still produce music more on the house side of things, and sometimes breakbeat too.”

Her latest release is “We Dance.”

“The single was recorded at the end of 2023,” ANII says. “The project started fairly simple, and then I incorporated the vocals, which are actually a sample. I remember trying to patch word by word to make sense of it at first. I let the track sit for a while, as it felt a bit unfinished, like there was something missing, but I didn’t know what. And then is when I added the drums… they completed the track.”

ANII believes that electronic music is getting bigger and bigger.

“[It’s] reaching more audiences around the world than ever before,” she says. “There are more opportunities for sure for the young artists and people, they often get their calling later on.”

Looking ahead, ANII has big plans for 2024.

“The most exciting thing to have happened, was the launch of the label TOO GOOD tO DIE,” she says. “It’s been a long and hard journey to get the whole thing up and running, finding the right team and planning all the releases. We have already almost a full year booked, so we have a lot of music to be sharing with everyone this year.”
