Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen star in The Good Liar, the serpentine tale of an accomplished con man’s courtship of a wealthy widow. The woman’s son (Russell Tovey) smells something fishy, but genuine feelings begin to develop between the two lonelyhearts. Danger and death, however, threaten to jump out at every corner. Bill Condon directs this elegantly constructed drama, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from a Nicholas Searle novel.  Opening wide.
