Vixen (Mark Weiss)

From THIRST to Squeeze

Also this week:

Drummer Roxy Petrucci of print stars Vixen said of her band, “It’s gelling big time. Everybody’s on fire. When Julia joined, I was actually looking at a couple of other different bass players, but I kept coming back to her. There’s something about her. Sure enough, she didn’t even get to rehearse with us so when Share passed over the bass, literally, on her last show, Julia played the three songs and didn’t miss a beat. She knocked it out of the park, and the thing is that it’s almost like I’ve been playing with her for a long time, because she locked right in with me, which is very important to a drummer and a bass player.”

In “Not Another DJ,” THIRST said “The combination of our individual musical backgrounds in House, Dubstep, and D’n’B, gives us an opportunity to do things differently, and so we tend to express our music with unconventional sound palettes. We think one of our recent tunes, ‘Monster’, really captures the essence of our project – it’s Phonk, but it’s arguably just as much modern dubstep. Despite having a wide range of upcoming releases, the four of us have paved a unifying path forward that cements our sonic footprint in the scene. We’re super excited to show everybody what’s next.”
