Someone dropped a dime on 42-year-old Zhichi Xu.

And at 7 a.m. yesterday cops went two Hacienda Heights marijuana grow houses allegedly tied to the man and found 1,400 plants, “elaborate marijuana grow systems,” and illegal electricity hook-ups that siphoned six-figures worth of juice, L.A. County sheriff's deputies said.

The residences were in …

… the 3300 block of Glennmark Drive and the 14800 block of Rockhill Drive, according to a sheriff's statement.

Narcotics Bureau detectives also came up with a search warrant for Xu's home (in the 300 block of Elm Avenue in San Gabriel) and say they found cash and “other evidence.”

Investigators say they were acting on a tip.

Cops say the marijuana was worth a whopping $5 million.

They say that, after checking with Southern California Edison, stolen electricity at the grow houses could have been worth $125,000.

Xu was booked on suspicion of holding marijuana for sale and held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

All that weed will go up in smoke, and not the good way, either.
