Elvis sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts, turquoise blouses, and polka dot dresses were plentiful on May 2nd when die-hard fans of 1993’s action/love story, True Romance, gathered for the 2nd annual True Romance Fest at the Safari Inn in Burbank. Devotees from around the country (and one from Canada) assembled at the movie’s most iconic filming location to share their love of the Quentin Tarantino penned/Tony Scott directed film, which starred Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette as Clarence and Alabama Worley. The day was full of costume contests, True Romance-themed games, photo booths, and live music. Finally, when the sun went down, everyone was treated to a screening of the film in the motel’s parking lot. Photos by Jared Cowan.
