We've just received word from our sister publication the Village Voice in NYC that they have something pretty special planned for the upcoming SXSW music and media conference in Austin, Texas. The 2011 Village Voice SXSW party, cosponsored by “content creation and distribution company” Frank151, will feature the Wu-Tang Clan, Fishbone, Yelawolf, Trae Tha Truth, Mars Lovejoy, Rocky Business, Trouble Andrew, Wild Flag, Ume, and a DJ set from Erykah Badu.

The party will happen Thursday, March 17 at the Austin Music Hall, 5 p.m.-2 a.m. All ages.

From the Village Voice announcement:

People who have been sentient in the last two decades should need no introduction to Wu-Tang and Fishbone–or to Alabama rap hero Yelawolf or the all-lady post-Sleater-Kinney supergroup Wild Flag, for that matter. And Voice readers should recognize formidable Austin trio Ume too, if not from their lively CMJ stint a year and half back, then at least for their towering frontwoman. Add Houston rap vet Trae Tha Truth and the Rocky Business/Trouble Andrew tour that just hit NYC's Mercury Lounge last week, and we're pretty excited.
