Two Person Hospitalized After a WSDOT Truck-Vehicle Collision on I-5

LYNNWOOD, WA (September 22, 2021) – Last Friday, a WSDOT worker sustained injuries after a vehicle collision on Interstate 5 in Lynnwood.

The incident took place on Interstate 5 at 164th Street SW. The police responded at the scene and located two persons with injuries from the crash.

According to reports, the truck was parked to block the HOV lane when a vehicle went past flares, struck a cone and rear-ended the back of the truck.

Paramedics transported the driver of the vehicle and the worker to Swedish Hospital in Edmonds.

Troopers eventually stated that the driver-at-fault will be cited for second-degree negligent driving.

At this time, it is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
