A Hollywood screenwriter says a shopping session at the Sherman Oaks Cost Plus World Market turned into a day of anger and embarrassment after an employee allegedly kicked him out for following females around the store.

The only person he followed, Brian Lynch said, was his niece. She's Asian. And so was the store worker, he claims. Lynch, whose writing credits include the animated Puss in Boots and Hop took his case to Twitter over the weekend, and now he says the store has apologized:

Lynch said it happened Sunday after he entered the store with his sister and her adopted daughter, a 10-year-old who is Korean American.

The screenwriter suggests in his tweets that the store worker might have had a problem as she zeroed in on a white guy following a school-aged Asian American girl around the store.

His sister, Lynch said, had wandered off:

World Market's Twitter account responded Monday morning:

Lynch said he would talk to his lawyer about it. He also demanded an apology which, last night, he said he received.
