Today, in fact about an hour ago, The Huffington Post launched their new food page. You knew this one was coming, right? The Atlantic has a food page, as does Tina Brown's The Daily Beast. And I bet Arianna Huffington makes a mean skordalia.

HuffPost Food editor Colin Sterling says that the new section will match the format of the other verticals, and will showcase “everything about food — through aggregated news and original pieces from contributors, including cooking, techniques, recipes, tools, celebrity chefs and food personalities, entertaining, food politics, drinks.” With today's launch, look for pieces by Marcus Samuelsson and Ed Behr, an interview with Kogi chef Roy Choi, and a conversation with Michael Pollan. HuffPost Food is partnering with Bon Appetit, Saveur, Imbibe and other sites. And their list of contributors is long and impressive, as you might expect: Ruth Reichl, Michael Ruhlman, Craig “Meathead” Goldwyn, the Lee Brothers, Katie Lee, Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's, Raul de Molina, Eli Kirshtein from Top Chef, and counting. Oh, and of course you can follow them on Twitter @HuffPostFood.

Guess Huffington got over her fear of cooking — or at least of having other people write about it. In a 2006 blog post, she said of cooking on the Martha Stewart show, “I haven't had as many butterflies in my stomach since I got into bed with Al Franken.”
