A new, more formal version of Sunnin Lebanese Café will be opening soon, directly across the street from the original on Westwood Blvd. According to employees, the new cafe will mimic the Long Beach location, with a more extensive menu, a 90-seat dining room, and an alcohol license. (See Eater LA's post for a photo of the new location).

Lunch at Sunnin cafe on Westwood means sitting elbow to elbow with UCLA students and neighborhood regulars inhaling plates of homemade hummus and shawarma wrapped in warm pita bread. Perhaps the new cafe will lighten up the table traffic. Yesterday, Sunnin chef, owner and matriarch, Em Toni was seated up at the bar, excavating seeds from dozens of pomegranates with the concentration of a biologist dissecting samples of sea sand.
