As Los Angeles continues to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, the most current numbers show that 1,204 new cases and 46 new deaths have been confirmed to date.

The L.A. County Health department has also confirmed 42,037 overall cases with 2,016 deaths, including Long Beach and Pasadena.

The Hispanic/Latino community continues to be hit the hardest, with 13,861 reported cases, while white communities have the second largest number of cases, at 5,001.

The city is in the midst of the second phase of its five-phase “Roadmap to Recovery,” as low-risk businesses such as florists and car dealerships have gradually continued to open.

When the city moves on to Phase 3 of the roadmap, it will include the reopening of higher risk businesses, as well as movie theaters, K-12 schools and universities.
