It's Panda Express Day in Los Angeles today. Ah, but isn't every day Panda Express Day? It is if your kids have nightly Kung Fu Panda marathons and refuse to eat their boeuf bourguignon. Today at 10 a.m. LA City Councilman Ed. P. Reyes and Panda Express CEO Tom Davin will do the honors at a proclamation ceremony, in recognition of the company's contributions to the city. Following the august event, the Panda Express truck (yup, they have a truck too) will be serving up free samples outside City Hall until 1:30 p.m. And while you wait for your SweetFire Chicken, you'll have the opportunity to donate to the LA County Widows and Orphans Fund, which is collecting on behalf of the families of the LA County firemen who recently lost their lives. A good deed, some free food. Maybe next week the city will declare, what, Cheesecake Factory Day? Works for me.
