October invariably brings a spell of Santa Ana winds and heat, but aficionados know that Maria Bermudez will create her personal heat wave as she returns to town for an evening of flamenco dance and music under the banner Maria Bermudez & Friends. Born in L.A., Bermudez (aka La Cha Cha) was already a figure in the local flamenco community when she moved to Spain and immersed herself in the world of gypsy flamenco. Her periodic homecomings to SoCal usually include some highly talented friends, and this time is no exception, with dancer Manuel de la Cruz, singers Kina Mendez and José Cortez, guitarists Adam del Monte and Kai Nazero, bassist Reggie Hamilton, percussionist Joey Heredia and, from Spain, palmero (hand clapper) Luis de la Tota. Barnsdall Art Park Gallery Theatre, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., E. Hlywd.; Sun., Oct. 30, 8 p.m.; $26-$61. (323) 663-1525, fountaintheatre.com.
