Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood has an interesting little tidbit about the screening of the new Doors documentary “When You're Strange,” produced by Dick Wolf. Seems that despite the buzz surrounding the doc, which features never-before-seen footage, the three remaining members of the band still ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT get on stage with one another. The threesome have long been embroiled in suits regarding use of the name The Doors, with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robbie Krieger wrestling with drummer John Densmore for control. Sad state of affairs.

Writes Finke: “…all the surviving Doors were at Sundance and there were two

separate jam sessions – one with Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, and

another with John Densmore (who was also at the Q&A).”

(I, for one, am glad that the three can't arrive at a solution; the last thing we need at this point is a “reunited” Doors.)

There's also a nice interview with the documentary's director, Tom DiCicco, over at Spout.com.
