Reality show producer Bruce Beresford-Redman was released by authorities in Mexico early Friday after he was detained for questioning in the death of his wife, who was found strangled near the Cancun hotel room they had occupied for a family vacation.

The sometime producer of CBS hit show Survivor is not off the hook however: Authorities indicate he's still under investigation, according to KTLA News, and he's been told not to leave the country (again). Beresford-Redman allegedly traveled back to Los Angeles earlier this week to drop off the pair's two young boys. He then reportedly returned to Mexico and reported his wife was missing.

The woman, 41-year-old Monica Beresford-Redman, is the matriarch of popular Brazilian spot Zabumba Bikini Bar & Restaurant in Palms, where media have been camped out. The eatery is apparently owned by the pair. Her body was found Thursday, the day authorities picked up 38-year-old Bruce Beresford-Redman for questioning.

Witnesses told Mexican authorities that they heard the couple fighting, with one hotel security guard saying he actually saw them arguing. Bruce Beresford-Redman reportedly had scratches on his neck.
