After nearly two months of investigation authorities in Mexico Monday filed murder charges against former Survivor television show producer Bruce Beresford-Redman, long suspected in the death of his wife there.

News outlets, including ABC, reported that state prosecutors filed the charges in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, leading a judge there to issue an arrest warrant for Beresford-Redman. Mexican authorities stated they would use all means at their disposal, including extradition, to have the producer brought to justice in Mexico.

Television news crews camped outside of Beresford-Redman's Rancho Palos Verdes home Monday, gambling on the possibility that U.S. Marshals would come for him at the behest of Mexican authorities. It didn't happen.

The producer is suspected of killing his wife April 5 as the couple vacationed in Cancun with their children. Late last month, despite warnings from Mexican authorities to stay, Beresford-Redman slipped back into the United States.

His wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, was a beloved figure in L.A.'s Brazilian community. She owned Palms restaurant and nightlife venue Zabumba.

Bruce Beresford-Redman released a statement Monday via his attorney, Robert Hirsch: “I am devastated at her loss, and I am incensed at the suggestion that I could have had anything to do with her death. I am innocent. My children have had one parent taken from them by a senseless act of violence. I implore the Mexican authorities not to take their remaining parent by a miscarriage of justice and to do what is right, not just what is expedient.''
