Spread Eagle at the Whisky: This was originally billed as a double bill with Every Mother’s Nightmare, but they dropped out leaving New York City rockers Spread Eagle to hold the fort together. This is typical Whisky fodder, no doubt, but make no mistake — Spread Eagle is a great band. Their self-titled 1990 debut and the ’93 Open to the Public  sophomore effort are underrated in the hard rock sphere, But the people that know them really like them. This will be a great night. AndSoul, 12 Gauge Serenade, and Rozco Blanco also perform.

“Remember when we could afford to live in Manhattan? Remember when we could walk down Avenue A swilling a 40oz, or when we COULDN’T walk down Avenue B, for fear of our lives? Remember when the dirty East Village streets influenced a sound that was as real as the City was? Remember the name Spread Eagle? That’s right, SPREAD FUCKING EAGLE,” reads a press release. “Well, the seminal roving Street metal gang is back with an even badder attitude. They’re pissed off about what’s happened to their city, and have something to remind us about. Spread Eagle promise to put the word DANGER back into the absent minds of rock and roll. The first order of business is the highly acclaimed new studio album SUBWAY TO THE STARS.”

Spread Eagle at the Whisky: The event takes place at  6 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 at the Whisky A Go Go.
