65-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Main Street

MESA, AZ (March 4, 2024)Sharon Rae Blakley died Tuesday night in a pedestrian crash on Greenfield Road and Main Street. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m., on February 27th.

As reported by the Mesa Police, a driver collided with 65-year-old Blakley while she was walking at the main entrance of an RV resort. Due to the severity of her injuries, medics declared Blakley deceased on scene. After initial tasks, law enforcement suspects that speed played a role, though no charges have been filed as of now.

Consequently, the authorities temporarily closed the resort overnight for clearance operations and further investigation. Once available, more details will be provided.
