21-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pursuit Collision on Northern Avenue

KINGMAN, AZ (February 7, 2024) Sarah Bingham died Friday night and Juan Ortiz was arrested after a pursuit collision on Bank Street and Northern Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately after 8:00 p.m., on January 26th.

Police initiated a traffic stop near a local car wash, but the suspect, Ortiz, forcefully collided with two patrol vehicles. Ortiz then drove away from the scene, prompting law enforcement to open fire. In the aftermath, Ortiz collided with another vehicle at an intersection, inflicting life-threatening injuries on the other driver.
 
Emergency medical personnel arrived, pronouncing 21-year-old Bingham dead at the scene.
 
Law enforcement apprehended 44-year-old Ortiz, and placed him in Mohave County Jail, where he faces numerous felony charges. Additional information will be disclosed as it becomes available.
