Woman Dead in Hit-and-Run Crash Near 28th Street
LONG BEACH, CA (January 2, 2024) – Early Saturday evening, police arrested Ronald Quispe following a deadly hit-and-run crash on Atlantic Avenue.
The fatal collision was reported on December 9th, at around 5:25 p.m. at 2700 Atlantic Avenue and 28th Street.
According to the local authorities, a southbound vehicle hit the pedestrian for unknown reasons and fled the scene. The driver then returned a short while later and cooperated with the police.
Unfortunately, the paramedics of the Long Beach Fire Department declared the female pedestrian dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police arrested the driver – 32-year-old Ronald Quispe of Long Beach – for suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
Authorities closed down Atlantic Avenue from Patterson to Columbia Streets for investigation. Those who witnessed the crash are encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7355.
