Two Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Accident near Annadale Avenue

FRESNO, CA (February 1, 2024) Rogelio Avila and Yessenia Avila died Monday morning in a 2-car crash on Chestnut and Annadale Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m., near Annadale Avenue.

Investigators report that the operator of a westbound large truck transporting milk executed a left turn onto Chestnut Avenue. Subsequently, a northbound pickup truck collided with the big rig, resulting in it being trapped underneath.

Emergency responders confirmed the fatalities of both the man and woman inside the pickup truck at the accident site.

Authorities later identified the victims as 50-year-old Rogelio and 20-year-old Yessenia from Parlier. Moreover, the driver of the semi-truck remained uninjured. Initial findings by officers revealed that the victims were a father and daughter on their way to Fresno Pacific University for Yessenia’s class.

An ongoing investigation is actively seeking additional information at this time.
