Talk about your magic bus.

The idea is genius, and seems to have its genesis in Las Vegas:

Rope in senior citizens with a free ride to the casino! Fleece. Repeat. But, in this case, the free ride takes you to Eagle Rock medical marijuana dispensaries. And there's no gambling there, folks. The payoff's golden.

The service started quietly last weekend:

Eagle Rock Patch reports that the mysterious shuttle, which appears to be complying with all regulations, had its maiden voyage on Saturday, with four lucky passengers aboard.

The ride's main advocate, Tim Ryder of Cannabis Clubs United With the Community, told the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council that the shuttle is legit, but he would not reveal its funding (one or more of those pot shops it heads to, maybe?).

Anyway, this sounds like the greatest ride in L.A. since Lindsay Lohan (pre-DUI, of course).

Cannabis Clubs United says the 10-seat van will run every Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. It goes from Eagle Rock Park's east parking lot to dispensaries on Colorado Boulevard.

We hear the return trip is irie.
