Lena Horne, the mesmerizing jazz singer and actress who bewitched everyone with her beauty, talent and class from the segregated forties, through the civil rights era, through the 21st century, passed away at 92 yesterday.

Since everyone is posting her fantastic rendition of “Stormy Weather” from the 1943 film of the same title, we decided to be perverse and give you instead her totally insane, totally rad cover of The Beatles' (actually, Paul McCartney's) “Rocky Raccoon,” featuring the great Gabor Szabo.

(Volume is not very good–turn it way up. It's worth it.)
