Musician and entrepreneur Krept, best known as one half of the platinum-selling duo Krept & Konan, has been steadily building a property portfolio alongside his music career with the help of UK property investor and educator Samuel Leeds.
Krept first connected with Leeds in 2020, seeking to diversify his income streams beyond music. A year later, he purchased his first property in Liverpool with Leeds’s guidance. You can watch the video here: LINK.
“This was basically a free house,” Krept said of the deal. “Samuel is the property GOAT.”
Turning £43,000 Into a Long-Term Asset
The investment was a small house in Liverpool bought for just £43,000. With Leeds’s mentoring, Krept converted the property into a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and then refinanced it, pulling his initial capital back out. The property is now fully tenanted, generating passive income.
Crucially, Leeds advised Krept to secure a certificate of lawfulness with the planning restrictions (known as Article 4) that came into effect in Liverpool. This strategic move meant Krept’s HMOs would be protected as “grandfathered” investments, giving them long-term value.
Since then, Krept has repeated the strategy on multiple properties in the city, with day-to-day management handled by Now Rooms Liverpool, a connection made by Leeds.
From Stage to Boardroom
While continuing to release music and perform, Krept has also proven himself as a serious entrepreneur. In 2020, he co-founded Narla Baby, a baby skincare line inspired by his daughter. The brand has grown rapidly, winning awards for innovation and expanding into major retailers across the UK.
