Los Angeles’ multi-Michelin-starred, Providence, helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef-owner Michael Cimarusti, marks its  20th anniversary this year on Tuesday, June 17 with a year-long celebration of guest chef dinners and exclusive one-off celebratory events open to the public starting on Thursday,  April  3 through  November. 

The festivities start with a Thai-inspired menu from two-time James Beard Award winner Andy Ricker and local chef-owner Kris Yenbamroong of NIGHT + MARKET.  Reservations are required and can be purchased via OpenTable.  $50 from each ticket goes to  Children’s Hospital Los AngelesTokyo-born chef-owner Zaiyu Hasegawa of two Michelin-star restaurants, Den, is on the schedule for Thursday, May 8.  David Kinch from Manresa Restaurant and Mauro Colagreco, Argentine chef at three Michelin-star restaurant, Mirazur, follow on Thursday, Nov. 13, and Gerald Passedat, chef of three Michelin-star restaurant Le Petit Nice in Marseille, will be in the kitchen on Thursday, Nov. 20.

 Back to Nature’s Snack Stop, a limited-time pop-up will bring nostalgic snacking to  Abbot Kinney on Friday, April 4. On grand opening day, the first 50 people to arrive at 11 a.m. get a free gift bag.  At 6 p.m.  Molly Baz pops in for the opening and the first 30 guests lined up at 6 p.m. to meet her will get a free bottle of AYOH, her newest line of mayos, and a signed copy of her More is More Cookbook.  Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 Back to Nature will offer brunch

Cuisine for a Cause returns on Sunday, April 27, offering an evening of gourmet dining at  Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. This event brings together some of LA’s most celebrated chefs for a night of fine dining and craft cocktails to benefit  Lupus LA’s work in patient advocacy, research, and awareness.

The stellar lineup includes Neal Fraser (Redbird & Vibiana,) Kevin Meehan (Koast,)  Tal Ronnen (Crossroads,) Antonia Lofaso (DAMA & SCOPA,) Bricia Lopez (Guelaguetza,) Caroline Styne and  Suzanne Goin from a.o.c.

 Bernie’s is popping up at Citizen Public Market in Culver City on Thursdays through  Saturdays from 11 a.m. to  8 p.m. with a rotating menu of all-natural, granita shaved ice, topped with their signature toasted meringue.  Flavors include smoked cherry, mango, Thai iced tea, black sesame and more.

The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Little Tokyo is hosting a new lunch and sound bath series every Monday afternoon in their historic Japanese garden, surrounded by lush flora and fauna and a cascading waterfall that symbolizes the perseverance of the Japanese in America. The garden offers a peaceful retreat, providing Angelenos a space for much-needed rest, reflection, and restoration.

Sound Bath at the Garden of the Clear Steam starts on  Monday, April 7 at 11 a.m.The tranquil experience begins with a 60-minute sound bath with Iris Esmerelda, a Mental Health Therapist turned holistic practitioner, focused on healing through the vibrations of sound. Lunch is available for purchase to enjoy lunch in the garden featuring tofu katsu sandos, brown butter Hojicha cookies,  a matcha latte, and matcha yuzu tonic featuring Uji tea leaves, specially procured from Kyoto exclusively for the JACCC. Tickets can be purchased on the JACCC website for $55 per person.
