The 98th Academy Awards was held last night, Sunday, March 15, at the Dolby Theatre, honoring the best films of 2025. The night’s biggest winner was One Battle After Another, which took home Best Picture and a total of six awards, including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for LA-native Paul Thomas Anderson. Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet. Supporting honors went to Amy Madigan for Weapons and Sean Penn for One Battle After Another.

Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his performance in Sinners, a film that netted Oscars for Ryan Coogler for Original Screenplay, Ludwig Göransson for Original Score, and Autumn Durald Arkapaw, who became the first woman to win Best Cinematography. Read our interview with Coogler here.

KPop Demon Hunters claimed Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song awarded to EJAE, and Norway’s Sentimental Value earned Best International Feature Film.

Late-night king Conan O’Brien returned as host for his second consecutive year and kept the show flowing with his trademark endearing and off-the-wall sensibility.
