1 Killed, 2 Injured in Wrong-Way Accident on Northbound FM 1788

ANDREWS COUNTY, TX (March 11, 2024) Peter Edin Bouton died early Friday morning in a wrong-way collision on northbound FM 1788. Police officers responded to the scene around 6:12 a.m.

Reports indicate that Bouton, a 32-year-old resident of Lufkin, drove his southbound 2017 Toyota Corolla into the northbound lanes. This resulted in a collision with an oncoming Dodge Ram 2500.

Due to the extent of his condition, Bouton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, 54-year-old Jabier Luna, the Dodge driver from El Paso, was transported to a nearby hospital for additional treatment. Additionally, 22-year-old Rogelio Herrera, a passenger in the Dodge from Rio Grand City, Texas, was taken to a hospital by medics.
