82-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near North Kelsey Street

MONROE, WA (February 22, 2024) – Early Monday morning, police responded to a fatal pedestrian accident on US Highway 2.

The incident occurred approximately at 6:50 a.m. on February 12th in the northbound lanes of the highway near North Kelsey Street.

Upon arrival, the Monroe Police Department discovered an 82-year-old woman lying on the roadway with critical injuries. Regrettably, she was pronounced dead by the authorities.

The investigation revealed that the elderly woman was crossing the highway when she was struck by the westbound vehicle.

Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and he fully cooperated with the authorities. The identity of the woman will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office after further investigation.
