One Hurt in Wrong-Way Accident near Interstate 10

PHOENIX, AZ (February 16, 2024) – Saturday night, one person sustained injuries and one was arrested after a wrong-way crash on 19th Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., near Interstate 10 on February 3rd.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, they arrived at the scene and discovered three vehicles involved in a collision caused by a wrong-way vehicle, where one person fled the scene on foot.

Subsequently, troopers located and detained the individual, although it remains unknown if that person was the wrong-way driver.

Furthermore, at least one occupant from the three vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and paramedics promptly transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

At this time, impairment is suspected as a factor in the collision, and further investigation is still ongoing.
