Surely there's no better way to relieve the familial tensions and raging turkey hangovers of Thanksgiving weekend than sitting in a darkened theater watching legends of slapstick smack each other round the chops and poke each other in the eyes. All right, maybe there is — but for die-hard lovers of comedy fisticuffs, there's the 12th Annual Three Stooges Big Screen Event, this year featuring five of the Stooges' classic shorts in pristine new prints from Columbia Pictures, along with special guests, a raffle (the proceeds of which will benefit the Alex Film Society), and even a 3-D bonus feature. (It's all about the triple dimensions these days, isn't it?) Get thee to Glendale and be prepared to choose your side on the age-old Curly vs. Shemp debate. If a fight breaks out, just take a look at the screen and you'll learn all the right moves.
