As the flatbread market continues to explode, Miznon is celebrating National Panini Month with a lineup of signature pita sandwiches including the Candy Steak with seared overnight brisket, aioli, mustard, pickles, tomato and red onion. There’s also the Falafel Burger with tomato, pickles, sour cream and spicy green peppers. For vegetarians, there’s the Eggs No Steak with fried egg, sour cream, tomato, cucumber and tomato salsa as well as the classic chicken favorite with a twist, the Chicken Schnitzel Pita made with Kosher chicken, tahini, matbucha, pickles and coleslaw. Miznon has locations in Beverly Grove and the Grand Central Market in DTLA.

The Taste of Runway returns to RUNWAY Playa Vista on Thursday, Aug. 27 . The ticketed culinary event offers eight vouchers to sample bites from a selection of fan-favorite restaurants across the property, including a first-look taste of a new venue coming to the property later this year!. The food sampling will be paired with a live performance from Undecided Future throughout the evening, along with drinks and alcohol available for on-site purchase
The lineup includes Sol Cocina, LOQUI, Hopdoddy, PV House, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Joliet Urban Plates and Dizzy Bird (coming soon to RUNWAY)
Modern Italian concept North Italia is teaming up with LA-based ice cream and dessert truck, Flavas by Ed, for a one-day-only pop-up experience at the Westfield Topanga Mall to celebrate the return of North’s Summer Sips campaign.
The limited-time “Sips & Swirls” pop-up event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15 from noon to 5 p.m., serving up the truck’s viral and colorful twist on favorite summer ice cream alongside an assortment of North’s limited-time summer cocktails, merch, and more.

Adam Weisblatt, 2026 James Beard Award Semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur, is releasing his new book For the Love of Restaurants: An Insider’s Guide from Daydreams to Opening Night on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and will be celebrating with a book launch party at Found Oyster from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
As the co-founder of Last Word Hospitality, the LA-based group behind Found Oyster, Hermon’s, and some of Southern California’s hot spots, Weisblatt has created a book that tells the messy story of what actually goes into turning an empty room into a cult classic like Found Oyster.
There will be meet-and-greet signings throughout the evening with books and merchandise available for purchase onsite as well as an oyster boat, complimentary pours, pony beers, and some surprise dinner specials. Reservations can be made HERE.
