The 5790projects pop-up curatorial team (a.k.a. the directorial staff of Mark Moore Gallery) produces about four exhibitions a year in various far-flung L.A. locations, featuring small groups of interesting independent artists; and while they are not necessarily trying to be all site-specific about it, this time, they could not help themselves. That's because “Storage Wars” takes place in the underappreciated behemoth of Inglewood's Beacon Arts Building, a renovated storage facility that now serves as a warren of art studios with a well-appointed gallery space on the ground floor. “Storage Wars” responds to this mixed-use circumstance and footprint of the structure with a group show of five artists (Justin John Greene, Finishing School, Natalie Labriola, Emily Silver, and Etienne Zack) whose work interprets memory and personal history as a form of long-term storage. The exhibition is up for a week, but there's a further compelling reason to visit Beacon Arts on the night of the opening — the entire building's worth of dozens of working artist studios will also be open during the gallery reception. So clear some space back at home and bring a moving van, because when it comes to discovering new art now, you can never have too much stuff. Beacon Arts Building, 808 N. La Brea Ave., Inglewood. Sat., Feb., 9, 7-10 p.m.; open Mon.-Fri., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; free. (714) 783.8310; 5790projects.com.
