Ah, there’s nothing like a three-day weekend to bring out the inner club fiend. Overdo it on the dance and drink, and you always have Monday to recuperate. Probably not what our forefathers had in mind when they came up with the holiday. But then, isn’t celebrating our right to party (and those who fight for it) the whole point? Here are some fun ways to do just that during the next four nights.

Thurs., May 25: Check out this wild “techno industrial exorcism” if you dare, along with artists, painters and exhibits, plus DJs spinning rock & roll and electro-noise. 9:30 p.m.-?2 a.m.; over 21; $10. At Boardner’s, 1652 N. Cherokee Ave., Hlywd. (323) 462-9621.

Fri., May 26: COMPRESSION. Detroit techno master Derrick May gets funky for a special night of this monthly bump-fest along with new resident John Tejada, plus Luis Rosario and Edison Elektrik. 9 p.m.-4 a.m.; over 21; $15 pre-sale, $20 at the door. At the King King, 6555 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd. www.compressionla.com.

Sat., May 27:LOVE FESTIVAL. Electronic-music lovers don’t want to miss this feel-good dance-a-thon featuring dozens of DJs, including Johnny Vicious, Richard Vission, Behrouz, Reza, DRC, David Garcia, R.A.W., CRS, Machete, XXXL and many more. 8 p.m.-4 a.m; $25-$40. At Expo Gardens at the L.A. Sports Arena, 3939 S. Figueroa St., dwntwn. (323) 960-5155, or www.thelovefestival.com.

Sun., May 28:BEAT X 3. There’s barely enough room for everybody at L.A.’s premier ’80s club, especially during holiday shindigs. But that won’t be a problem this year when the promoters take over three venues with their retro dance-floor riots. All locations, 9:30 p.m.-2:30 a.m.; over 18; $15. At Henry Fonda Theater (with DJs Jeffington and Joe), 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; at the Ruby (with DJs Bractune and Ali), 7070 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; and at the Key Club (with DJs Frankie, Joseph Brooks and Apollo Starr), 9039 Sunset Blvd., Hlywd. www.clubbeatit.net.
