35-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Rainbow Road

GOODYEAR, AZ (March 25, 2024)Megan Maiorana was killed Friday night and Anthony Maiorana was arrested after a DUI collision on Willis and Rainbow Road. Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:00 p.m., on March 22nd.

Police report that Anthony was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve off the road and plunge into a nearby lake. Although Anthony managed to escape from the car as it sank, his passenger Megan Maiorana was unable to free herself and remained trapped inside.

Divers later recovered Megan’s body, still strapped in with her seat belt, and pronounced her deceased at the scene. Following the incident, Anthony was hospitalized and subsequently taken into custody at Maricopa County jail on multiple charges.

Authorities disclosed that his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was recorded at .234. Further investigation is currently ongoing.
