9-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Scooter Accident near San Paula Avenue

DALLAS, TX (March 21, 2024)Max Hutchins died early Tuesday night in a scooter crash on Materhorn Drive and San Paula Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 5:40 p.m., on March 12th.

Authorities report that a pickup truck collided with 9-year-old Hutchins while he was riding an electric scooter near the intersection. Shortly after, medics rushed the child to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Due to the severity of his condition, Hutchins passed away from his injuries on Friday, March 15th. His family chose to donate his organs.

The loved ones of Hutchins started a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this difficult time. An active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
