Laptop mixmasters, eat your hard drives out. There’s a new technique in town, and it promises to get gamers and dance-floor geeks alike booted up and ready to boogie. Bootie L.A. presents DJ WiiJ from San Francisco; he’ll be “Wii-Jing” — hacking into Wiiemote controllers from the Nintendo Wii — to manipulate the sounds he chooses from a PC DJ program. He’s been getting a lot of kudos from the tech community, but the video-game-inspired gimmick would wear thin if his mixing and selector skillz weren’t spot on. Expect the Wii man to play the kind of irreverent genre bash ’n’ trash Bootie’s known for from: beat blends marrying everything from disco, new wave, classic rock and electro (example: Chic + Simple Minds = “Don’t Forget about the Good Times”). Plus, more mashup mayhem from Paul V. and Adrian and the Mysterious D. Safari Sam’s, 5214 W. Sunset Blvd., Hlwyd.; Sat., Aug. 4, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.; over 21; $10 ($6 before 10:30 p.m.)
