Michele StuevenUpscale CBD, VuVuV CBD Petline, and Earth Blends Herbs & Nutrition in Inglewood are joining forces on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to promote service, unity, and collaboration, bringing together experts in the health and wellness industry plus other small businesses.
“We have seen the gut-wrenching images of the fires that swept over the Pacific Palisades and Alta Dena areas,” Tamara Rodgers, CEO of Upscale CBD said in a press release. “As a minority-owned business, we wanted to do something to support the community during this time.”
Upscale CBD will donate 20% of all sales online and in person on Monday to victims of the Alta Dena fires. There will also be in-store demonstrations, giveaways, and chiropractors on-site, bringing the community together. The event is free and open to the public and is pet friendly. Pet owners can bring their critters for a sample of a VuVuV CBD butter cookie treat.

Fig Tree Venice has created a community donation meal program to support first responders and those impacted by the wildfires. For every $20 meal donated, Fig Tree will match it twice and oversee distribution to various programs across the city. They are aligned with the Community Brigade and Westside Food Bank and delivered 200 meals to first responders in Topanga in one day alone.
Vintage Land will host a special donation drop-off and volunteer opportunity event to support those affected by the recent wildfires across Southern California on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Vintage Land l on the ground floor of the building. All items collected will go directly to the Pasadena Humane Society and Flintridge Retreat Center in Pasadena and a portion of this week’s vendor fees will be donated to the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles to further support wildfire relief efforts.
Los Angeles-style fried chicken spot Go Go Bird and sister company Go Go Gyoza are donating 100% of proceeds from sales of jarred chili oil to the GoFundMe campaign, Wildfire Relief Fund 2025, supporting relief and recovery efforts by sending emergency relief grants of $1,000 each to individuals who have lost homes, loved ones, and property due to the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires. Chili oil may be purchased at Go Go Bird’s Culver City location.
Firehouse Subs, a brand founded by firemen, is offering free Medium Hook & Ladder combo meals to all local frontline workers starting today through Saturday, Jan. 22, at 34 restaurant locations across California. This includes EMS, firefighters, law enforcement, linemen, and active military members with valid IDs. The combo includes a sub sandwich, chips, or a cookie and 32 oz. drink.

If there’s anything that can provide comfort, it’s Girl Scout Cookies. The season kicks off on Sunday, Jan. 26. Orders are now being taken, including through Digital Cookie, for customers to purchase for girl delivery and donation and for direct shipments. On Jan. 26, Girl Scouts began delivering cookies in person and from Friday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, March 9, scouts will sell cookies in front of participating public locations throughout Greater Los Angeles.
The Girl Scout Crown Poppy Service Unit in partnership with the Monrovia/Duarte Service Unit is partnering with GSGLA to collect uniform materials for all Girl Scout levels to share with troops impacted by the wildfires. Learn more.
