Dennis RomeroA nearly $4-million-month marijuana operation that supplied dispensaries near and far was busted by the LAPD, the department alleged today.
Narcotics officers, with the help of U.S. Homeland Security gang agents, served a search warrant at a warehouse about 11 a.m. yesterday and allegedly discovered what they expected to find — 1,500 pounds of marijuana alongside 2 assault rifles, 2 shotguns and three pistols, according to an LAPD statement:
The south-of-downtown warehouse in the 2000 block of E. 15th St. was using “dangerous amounts of electricity” and “electricity lines attached to the building were charred from the amount of power going through” them, the department stated.
The situation represented an “extreme fire risk,” police said: Families were living in the warehouse and “legitimate” businesses also shared space inside.
Cops say the operation did about $7.6 million worth of business every 60 days and supplied weed to …
… numerous stores throughout the Southern California region as well as shipping marijuana to the Midwest and the East Coast.
Four suspects were arrested in connection with the alleged operation, but they were not named.
