65-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Electric Tricycle vs SUV Collision near World Trade Drive

POWAY, CA (November 2, 2023) – Monday evening, a tragic incident unfolded on Camino Del Norte as a man lost his life in an electric tricycle accident. First responders arrived to the scene near World Trade Drive on the westbound lanes of Camino Del Norte at approximately 5:00 p.m.

According to initial accounts, a 2021 Mercedes-Benz driver collided with the rider of an electric tricycle in the westbound lanes. Emergency medical personnel promptly arrived and transported the 65-year-old male tricycle rider to a nearby hospital, where he passed away.

Meanwhile, the 47-year-old female SUV driver remained unharmed. Early investigations suggest that alcohol or drugs are not likely to have played a role in the incident. The investigation into the Camino Del Norte accident is now in the hands of the Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
