Pedestrian Crash near Morrill Avenue Left One Dead

SAN JOSE, CA (August 29, 2023) – Thursday evening, a man was struck and killed in a pedestrian-auto collision on Landess Avenue. Police responded to reports of the incident shortly before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Landess Avenue and Morrill Avenue. Based on the initial investigation, a 2007 Lexus sedan was traveling east on Landess Avenue with a green light. There, it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street. Authorities state that the person was walking in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. First responders at the site of the crash declared the adult male pedestrian dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once the next of kin has been notified. The driver of the Lexus stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
