Santa Anita Park’s series of guest chefs continues on St. Patrick‘s Day weekend with chef, author and filmmaker George Motz bringing his grilled Onion Smashburger to the race track on Saturday and Sunday. Founder of the Food Film Festival and author of Hamburger America, Motz will be there in person, slinging burgers.

Now through Sunday, March 17, Polly’s Pies will offer a St. Patrick’s Day menu filled with Irish-inspired dishes and festive treats featuring corned beef, cabbage, clovers and more:

Dine-In Menu Items:

Irish Skillet Breakfast — Corned beef and chopped bacon layered with breakfast potatoes, Guinness cheese sauce, farm-fresh eggs, and sliced green onions. 

Reuben Fritters — Tender corned beef with sauerkraut, three cheeses, and spices hand-breaded and fried golden brown. Served with homemade Guinness cheese sauce for dipping. 

Reuben Sandwich — Thinly sliced corned beef, fresh sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made thousand island dressing on toasted, freshly baked rye bread. Served with fries.

Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner — Tender slices of corned beef with baby carrots, red potatoes, and a wedge of braised cabbage. Served with pub mustard sauce and freshly baked dinner rolls. 

Desserts:

Apple Pie with a Clover Topper — Tart granny smith apples topped with a lucky clover and St. Paddy’s Sprinkle Sugar Cookies.

The Original Farmers Market St. Patrick’s Day celebration takes place on Sunday, March 17, kicking off with the sounds of a strolling bagpiper from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by toe-tapping tunes from The Merry Minstrels band on the East Patio from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Flavors of Ireland including corned beef, cabbage and potatoes will be served fresh at Magee’s Kitchen, green beer and Guinness will be available at  Bar 326 and EB’s Beer & Wine

Topanga Social in the San Fernando Valley will host a lucky celebration on Sunday, March 17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring specials like a green beer tent, brats, a specialty dish from the food hall’s newest addition Cilantro Lime (hint: it’s “corn beef” tacos) and live entertainment. In addition to limited-time to-go beer specials happening at Buzzrock Brewing Co., within The Brews Hall, the following specials will be offered: 

  • Craft Green Beer Colin Cowherd’s The Herd Pilzner ($7)
  • Corned Beef Sandwich on marbled rye bread, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, “The Spread” with chips and pickle on side ($18.95)
  • Clover Shake green vanilla shake featuring Irish whiskey ($13.95)

Dog Haus will launch a St. Patty’s Melt for a limited time only throughout March (while supplies last) made up of a beef patty, pastrami, grilled sauerkraut, white American cheese and secret sauce, patty melt-style on grilled King’s Hawaiian bread. Get lucky by pairing the St. Patty’s Melt with one of Dog Haus’ St. Patrick’s Day drink deals: green beer, $6 Jameson Shots, and $7 Pickle Backs on March 17.

TOUS les JOURS is gearing up to introduce two spring treats, available at participating locations during March. Expanding on the bakery’s lineup of more than 300 artisan pastries, gourmet cakes, and desserts, the café is offering limited-time, whimsical creations. There’s the St. Patty’s Mini Cloud Cake available now through March 17,   matcha-flavored shortcake with cream cheese frosting between the layers, topped with cute Shamrock designs in vibrant green hues (priced at $9.75-$10.25). There’s also an Easter Cloud Cake available on Monday, March 18, through Sunday, March 31, a vanilla sponge cake with diced mangoes and cloud cream between each layer, adorned with light blue cloud cream, meringue bunnies, and carrots (priced at $38-$40).

Yogurtland is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with the return of its fan-favorite flavor, Lucky Irish Mint, in addition to the middle handle combo, Mint Cookies and Cream Swirl, a blend of Lucky Irish Mint and Cookies and Cream. Completing the festivities,  choose from gummy rainbow cluster toppings and an online-exclusive digital cup Luck of the Rainbow, which features Lucky Irish Mint topped with candy-coated chocolate and mochi (exclusively online at yogurtland.com or through the Yogurtland app). They will also introduce all-new Yogurtland Charms, available only on March 17. Guests who spend $15 in-store and show the social media post will be treated to a complimentary three-pack of Yogurtland Charms.
